“The law of harvest is to reap more than you sow. Sow an act, and you reap a habit. Sow a habit and you reap a character. Sow a character and you reap a destiny.” -James Allen
Initially, I never saw myself as having the strength or patience to fulfill the role of a fast food worker, pizza delivery man, dishwasher, help desk worker, survey representative or auditor. People sometimes give you a hard time when you tell them where you will be getting your paycheck. My list of jobs is no exception to this rule. However, I learned valuable insights on life from taking each of these roles. Sure, each had some very frustrating moments and times where I wanted to quit it all and just walk away. Looking back, I probably should have in some instances. However, there is never an easy way out. It’s always easy to say something and do another. It’s always easy to ignore difficult instances in your life, rather than deal with them. Plus, I needed the money. I have never worked harder in my life, than I did at my first job. The work was disgusting, labor intensive and smelled awful. It may not have even been quite up to the Dirty Jobs standard, but for me it was very close. I’ve never felt like I earned anything more in my life, than the time I was making minimum wage.
I learned a great deal about my attitude towards work. If you change jobs, but don’t have an attitude of pride, responsibility and commitment success is difficult. It’s not the job that matters. It’s your attitude towards the job. I believe this attitude had the power to generate a positive ripple effect throughout my life. You could be doing anything anywhere, but still be miserable if you have a poor attitude. Experiment and find out what gives you great fulfillment in life. Research ways to to increase your odds of being successful. Take any help or advice you can get along the way. Just imagine what you can learn from this experience alone. Remember you can be rich, poor, sad, happy, etc and perceive the ideal condition in life to be that of your neighbor, friend, co worker, etc. However, life changes so fast and then it hits us that our friend who is sick, the celebrity who lives indoors, or our divorced co worker did not have it all. Please remember this fact and it will give you the greatest sense of empowerment and awareness into other ppl’s lives. It will help battle jealousy, greed and temptation for we never know what role in life we will play next. Don’t get down on yourself if you find yourself envying someone. Try to have the self awareness to realize where you are going and the possibilites of change. I will try to make my site as interesting and inspirational as possible in hopes that I can help you find your way, just as so many others have helped me find my own. Godspeed.
